Bombay Bored

At: V11

Prior to their gig at Rotterdam’s Light Vessel 11, indie rock trio Bombay performed a fantastic rendition of ‘Bored’, a cut from their sophomore LP Show Your Teeth. Correlating with the songs too-cool-for-school blasé nature, singer/guitarists Mathias Janmaat performs the entire song resting his sea legs on the love seat.

Interviewer Gino van Weenen asked the band about their international ambitions, their rapidly developing sound and the possibility of adopting a happy hardcore approach (!).

Interview:

Prior to their show at Rotterdam’s Light Vessel 11 last December, Dutch rock trio Bombay spoke to Gino van Weenen about their new line up, sound and the recording of their sophomore LP Show Your Teeth.

Music: Bombay – Sea

Location: V11

Anchored in Rotterdam’s Wijnhaven, Light Vessel 11 truly is “the boat the rocks”. Like Bombay, the V11 has been through quite a few transitional periods. Between ’51 and ’89, the ship was a prized possession of Trinity House. After rusting away at a dock in Portsmouth for six years, a buyer from The Netherlands decided it could become a cosy spot where people socialize. Today, you can enjoy the finest English cuisine here before checking out great live music at the ship’s lower deck.
